For many individuals, washer-dryers are a fantastic alternative. A washer-dryer is something to think about if you live in a tiny apartment or house or don’t have enough space for both a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
They are excellent for people who want to save time because they are two appliances in one. You won’t have to sort through wet clothes, hang it all up, and wait for it to dry if you have the best 2 in 1 washer-dryer.
Siemens WD14U520GB Washer Dryer
One of the most expensive washer-dryer models available from Siemens, and the test winner, is this one. It is a fantastic option for a family because of its large 10kg capacity and effective stain removal. We considered the “reload” function, which pauses the wash and anything else you’ve forgotten, to be a helpful tool.
In comparison to 82% of stains from synthetic materials, this machine did a remarkable 85% job of removing stains from cotton. In our tests, it dried effectively and rapidly, drying cottons in just over an hour and synthetics in 55 minutes.
Although it used less power than the other machines we tested, the cotton drying cycle left clothing with significant creases.
Bosch Serie 6 WDU28560GB Washer Dryer
This is a mid-range freestanding model from Bosch, despite being expensive. The touch screen is easy to use, and the jog wheel control is properly labeled. It’s quite easy to use, and we appreciate that some cycles may be stopped to let you add objects to the wash that were forgotten, like the prize. Knowing that the default rinse cycles outperform the other models examined will satisfy anyone who is sensitive to washing chemicals. You have the option of selecting a rinse that is even more thorough.
During the cotton wash cycle, we did observe some timer error, but not with our winner. There was still one minute left in the rinse, according to the timer. It briefly showed one minute, then abruptly changed to show that there was still more than an hour to go.
The synthetic drying process is swift, and the creases on the garments were minimal. The cotton drying cycle is very quick; while the items were badly wrinkled, they were practically perfectly dried. The energy consumption of the wash cycles and the wash and dry cycle was comparable. Overall, consumption for the drying cycles was low, however it wasn’t as low as for the winner.
AEG OkoMix L8WEC166R
This washer-dryer is AEG’s mid-range model. The manufacturer asserts that its product is the first on the market to pre-mix detergents and softeners separately to activate them before they reach the drum. This procedure is meant to provide the most complete cleaning. In tests, we discovered that it effectively eliminated 93% of stains from synthetic textiles and nearly 77% of stains from cotton materials. It received a perfect score in our rinse test, indicating that approximately 100% of the detergent was eliminated, making it a fantastic choice for people who are delicate to detergents.
Despite the drum’s 10kg washing capacity, we had trouble fitting even 7.5kg of laundry inside. Although the cotton drying cycle dried our laundry quickly and completely, the clothing were severely wrinkled. The synthetic cycle produced clothing that were very wrinkled and nearly flawlessly dry.
Similar to our winner and runner-up, this model used little energy during the washing cycle. However, we discovered that its drying cycle used less energy than the runner-up. It uses a lot of electricity and has a combined wash and dry cycle that is longer than others on our list.
Miele WTF121WPM Washer Dryer
You always pay a premium for a top product with Miele. This model has a very quiet operation, an easy-to-use control panel, and a big display screen with clear instructions. For laundry including common filth and stains, it effectively eliminated 71% of stains from cotton and 82% of stains from synthetics. There is a helpful intense option that may be enabled for most cycles if you require better stain removal for highly soiled clothing. We noticed that the timer got stuck during the combined wash and dry cycle and continued to display 12 minutes for more than an hour.
The list’s most energy-efficient model is this one. The wash cycles’ usage was really low—lower than that of our winner. Additionally, the combined wash and dry test and our drying cycles gave this Miele a perfect score for energy efficiency.
Our cotton clothing was over-dried and severely wrinkled, but the synthetic items were only slightly moist. Although pricey, this machine is quiet, has many programs, and is easy to use; although expensive up front, it will save money in the long term.
